So too could minor variations in one part of the board affect play across the board. The Captain of Watch asesses the board for all possible impacts - both immediate and long-term.

Ok folks, my oversight, per the DC house rules France is actually allowed a retreat. (I believe I'll be closing this loophole in my own house rules for future games...) Anywho, MAO retreats to NAO, updated map attached.     From: John Smith

A communications blackout in the office of the President is costly for French troops, and Turkey seems to have voluntarily pledged fealty to their Russian masters. It will be interesting to see what the fall brings... No retreats, so moving right along. Deadline for Fall (once again factoring in the holidays for those of you who insist on celebrating these things) is January 3rd.  France
