Once is happenstance. Twice is coincidence. The third time it’s enemy action.

PREV  Spring 1901 Adjudication:  NEXT

Let battle be joined! All orders received; no false starts here. Warms the heart of this crusty old gamemaster, it does. This turn featured some moves not commonly seen, most notably that there is no bounce in the Black Sea as neither Russia nor Turkey moved their fleets to the sea province. Similarly, there was no bounce in the English Channel, but that's because the French moved in whilst the English did not. Elsewhere, the moves are mostly standard, and we will see what happens this autumn. Belgium looks particularly interesting, given the proximity of two French units, plus the Italians on a ski holiday in Tyrol is always a little eye-opening. I always think that the best part of being a GM is being completely surprised when the moves come in (and when they change!) because I'm making a complete guess based on just a picture of the board, when of course there's so much that's going on in email discussions amongst the players.

Additionally, as some of you have seemed unsure of this, yes, you are able to change and revise your orders. This is why I always recommend preliminary orders sent early in the turn just in case you miss the deadline - they can always be updated as needs change, and it eliminates the risk of your units just sitting around when your neighbors are active. Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas weekend (if you celebrate), and that 2022 brings you happiness, success, and good health. I wonder if any among you have set a New Year resolution to be more "stabby". We will see!

Autumn 1901 orders are due in one week! That's January 7th, 08:00 US-Eastern.
