PREV  Summer 2010 Adjudication:  NEXT

Hey guys,

So we've finally got 5 confirmed players, so it's time to start the first playtest of Arctic Diplomacy! In addition to the variant rules that you've hopefully already read, I ask that you also look over my house rules, the link to which is on the game's DC page. If you have any questions about either of these, please do not hesitate to ask. This is especially true for the variant rules, for part of designing the variant is making sure that players are able to understand the rules, but this requires people other than myself to point out when things that I think are perfectly clear are not! Further, the last thing I want is skewed playtest results due to rules misinterpretation, so I cannot emphasize enough how much I want you to ask me when even the slightest thing is not clear, and even feel free to point out something that is clear to you but you could see how it might not be to others.

The game number will be DC267. Please make sure to put this number in the subject of all emails regarding this game as that is how I filter messages, and if you leave it off I might miss your orders!

There is one thing I want to point out about maps, so that no one gets confused. The adjudications will be shown on the map that applies for the current season; e.g. the Fall 2010 adjudication will be shown on the fall map. However, note that you will need to be aware of which territories will be freezing/melting with the upcoming adjudication, as orders that look legal on the map at which you will be looking may not be legal for the upcoming season. I will try my best to look over your moves when I receive them and let you know if you have made an illegal order, but of course I cannot promise anything, especially if you send orders at the last minute; prelims are always encouraged. I have attached the start map and the templates for each season, so you can always look at those if you are confused.

The first deadline, for Fall 2010, will be Tuesday, July 21, at 9 pm eastern. Power assignments are below.

Very much looking forward to this one,
Matt

Diplomacy games may contain lying, stabbing, or deliberately deceiving communications that may not be suitable for and may pose a hazard to young children, gullible adults, and small farm animals.
