All,
I'm sure we've all seen the email from Kevin. I don't mean to sound harsh, but his responsibility was to inform me before he went on vacation. Kevin violated that responsibility, so the replacement was necessary.
I apologize for not adjudicating last night - a friend flew in last night from out of town, and in the cleaning frenzy, I completely forgot about Diplomacy. So sorry, I'll try to avoid that mistake in the future.

Headlines:
RUSSIAN FORCES EXPAND NORTH, SOUTH
Russian forces were spotted in Turkish and English territory this week, as fleets in Norway and Ankara, signal all out war with the Bear's neighbors. In related news, Rumania fell to a joint Austro-Turkish assault, drawing battle lines in very dangerous colors.
GERMANY, FRANCE SHORE UP FRONT LINES
Armies amassed along the border between France and Germany, setting the stage for a potentially devastating border skirmish. Speculators in the wine industry expect the price of Burgundy vintages to rise exorbitantly.
ITALIAN ARMIES SIGHTED NEAR AUSTRIA, AGAIN
Austrian forces in Trieste repelled an Italian incursion attempt yet again this week, while a regiment of Italian troops covertly landed in Albania under cover of coastal bombardment from the Ionian Sea. The consuls in Serbia and Greece have sued the Austrian government for peace, citing fears of potential fighting in major cities. The Austrian government has yet to respond.
ENGLISH SAILS OFF FRENCH NORTH COAST
The English Channel, long a peaceful zone between England and France, was full of British flags this week. The French armada in Brest tried valiantly to hold off the British invasion, but was severely outgunned and forced to fall back to the coast.
