The pressure on Russia has largely abated as the Sultan looks west, while Italian moves towards France suggest that Austria may well be able to hold the line against the Turk! Along the English Channel, the English army received two foreign supports, neither of which were used, and it seems that Britain now finds itself in the driver's seat in deciding on France or Germany as an ally, although the presence of the Royal Navy gives France a myriad of retreat destinations.
