All,
I have several things to cover, so please pay attention.
First: Babak (Russia) has failed to submit orders. I don't know if he's still having computer trouble or not, but he had eight days to submit orders, plus more than two days' warning. Therefore, I have NMR'ed him. Babak, you have 24 hours to notify me if you wish to remain in the game. If not, I will replace you. If you do get in touch, and continue, the next NMR will cause your immediate replacement, as per rule 2 of my house rules.
Second: In my house rules, I state that extensions will be granted on a case-by-case basis, but that extensions to the current turn are strongly frowned upon. I know I don't specify a time frame in which a request is unacceptable, but asking for an extension less than 12 hours before the deadline, and in the middle of the night before a weekday, won't fly. Even in the case of a family emergency, I could plausibly say that you shouldn't have waited until the day of the deadline to send orders (I wouldn't be that heartless, of course, but it's only common sense.)
Third: Please, for the love of all that's holy, read a GM's house rules either before you sign up for a game, or at least before the game starts. One player submitted an order set that was one order short this turn. When, presumably, he realized his error, he sent an "addition" of the one order. According to my house rules, which I will paste in a moment, this "addition" would be the only valid order, causing the rest of his units to be unordered (hold).
The pertinent rule is: "6c. All order sets should contain a full set of orders. If a subsequent version of orders is sent (i.e., Version 2,) previously received orders will be completely disregarded, regardless of completeness of the most recently received order set. No assumptions will be made as to player intentions for a unit thus unordered."
I did not do that this time, as it would have been detrimental to the game, and it is too late at night to ask guidance of the Mods (and still get the turn out.)
Fourth: PLEASE check a map before submitting orders. Even in a case where you know exactly where all your units are, you should always make sure the spaces you're trying to move them to are adjacent. If the order set in question had been submitted even a day ago, I could have said something like "please review your orders for legality," and at least given some heads up (without crossing into dangerous, GM-interference territory.) However, if I receive orders on the day of the deadline, by the time I check them it will be after the deadline (as I work all day,) and too late to ask clarification. Therefore, potentially flawed order sets can end up affecting your position or plans in the game.
That's all for this turn, I think. Here it is. Any complaints can be addressed to me, though I can't promise I'll change the results. You get what you order, folks.
