PREV  Fall 1996 Adjudication:  NEXT

Fall 1996 Headlines:
-Poland continues to march northeast, enters St. Petersburg on heels of retreating Russians
-Defensive Ukraine holds off attacks from Turkey and Italy
-Egypt and Italy bounce each other out of Spanish-held Tunis
-Germany and Italy finally cooperate against France, yet are still rebuffed from Switzerland
-Spain and France look over their shoulders to see each others' troops in each others' homelands
-Germany decides to try the Czech beer the Poles have been raving about

We have two retreats for Autumn 1996:
British F Mur may retreat to Brn, Lap, Ura, Whi, or OTB.
French A Auv may retreat to Bor, Lyo, Par, or OTB.
These two retreats and any press releases for Autumn 1996 will be due tomorrow, Wednesday, August 3, at 9 pm eastern.

Matt

Press #1:
Eg to T: My fleets are purely defensive. I hope you understand
Eg to S: I hope my attack on Tunis fails, but if it dosen't, I'm sorry. It was an attempt at a bump
Eg to England: Wazzup?

Press #2:
Spain is puzzled regarding the leader that has now decided to speak on her behalf, but does not disagree with all that was said.

Spain to Egypt: I am hoping to see you make a move to Morocco soon, and ask again to retain Tunisia for the time being. I will let you know in autumn or winter how or if I will support you, and hope you choose to accept.

Spain to Italy: I agree that Auv is key, however had little chance of keeping the French pigs out of it. In hindsight perhaps one more season. I implore you to continue to work with G to make F life miserable. My line might hold with a bit of luck. If Tunisia is grabbed by you or Egypt my line won't hold long.

Press #3:
The Monarch ponders the events that transpire with Polish forces wreaking havoc (or are they?) on the Continent.
The Monarch ponders aloud whether Germany recognizes the noose that slips around the lowlands.
The Monarch ponders the French wave of destruction poised to rock Iberia.
The Monarch begins to see the world in black and white, and lots of gray in the Mediterranean.
The Monarch waves bemusedly at the Italian comedic team.

Press #4:
German press
To poland:
i try to borrow cze. if not success, please advise.

to italy:
hope you enter swi

Press #5:
Who said I was bluffing?

Press #6:
I'm in Banff, Alberta! This scenery is even better than the Alps. I propose we screw Europe and colonize Canada (it's mostly empty).

France to Germany: Srsly? Italy has nothing for you. If you force me away from neutrality between you and England, you'll regret it when Italy and Poland divide you between them.
