PREV  Autumn 1903 Adjudication:  NEXT

I have time now to adjudicate retreats...

Nilleidewsia retreats to Helgoland Bight and North Sea.
Were-Hamsters retreat to Armenia
Sapienta disbands

We now enter a post-Sapienta world:

Blurbia: Supp 6 Unit 5 Build 1
Celtic_Nation: Supp 6 Unit 4 Build 2
DRE: Supp 6 Unit 5 Build 1
Nilleidewsia: Supp 1 Unit 5 Remove 4
Were-Hamsters: Supp 7 Unit 7 Build 0
Wu_Tang_Nation: Supp 6 Unit 4 Build 2
Zonotrichia: Supp 2 Unit 2 Build 0

And let me just say... this is a remarkably balanced game. Five players all echoing the Captain's lament in HMS Pinafore: "Say, why is everything either at sixes or at sevens?" Sixes and sevens? What the...? Well, the phrase means that things are in confusion and disarray -- in the Captain's case, his daughter was partial to a lowly British sailor whilst being cool to the advances of the Admiral of the Navy. But according to Wikipedia an alternate meaning to the phrase is to be found:

The similar phrase "to set the world on six and seven", used by Geoffrey Chaucer in his Troilus and Criseyde, dates about the mid 1380's and seems from its context to mean "to hazard the world" or "to risk one's life".

To hazard the world! To risk one's life! It must be a game of Diplomacy!

Anyhow, I will adjudicate Winter 1903 tomorrow if I have all orders, but elsewise, the deadline is officially Tuesday.

Diplomacy games may contain lying, stabbing, or deliberately deceiving communications that may not be suitable for and may pose a hazard to young children, gullible adults, and small farm animals.
