It occurred to me that when Christopher Columbus set out on his journey, he was playing Youngstown Diplomacy. In our game, the honor falls to the Japanese to be the first to cross the great ocean, but they find no new continents along the way. Elsewhere, France and Germany both gain a foothold in Great Britain, China is rebuffed in Laos but the alliance with Japan appears to be holding firm, and the naval effort against Austria is gaining some momentum.

Two units were dislodged, of which was disbanded. I therefore need a French retreat order. Summer 1904 is due 08:00 GMT on 14 January, and Fall 1904 is due 08:00 GMT on 20 January. If you guys now think that shorter deadlines will be useful as we enter the mid-game, let me know.
