PREV Spring 1904 Adjudication: NEXT

I don't know why I'm so focused on these fleets in the Mediterranean. I'm waiting for a clash that still hasn't happened, but there's plenty of other things happening on the map. This was a very action-packed turn!Â

1. The island of Great Britain is suddenly full of combatants. The French have landed in Wales and threaten both London and Liverpool, but the English returned from their Belgian holiday with suitcases full of beer and waffles to defend their island home against that eternal French foe. But the price of the German help they enlisted to do that means the Germans have themselves gone to those same tables for beer and waffles.Â

2. Vienna may be an open city, ripe for someone to walk in and take it, but despite four neighboring armies surrounding the city, no one took it. In fact, three of the four units left the area entirely, meaning that if anyone does take it in the Fall, it's going to be that Russian army still in Budapest. And here I was expecting the Habsburg capital to be a prized possession.Â

3. All those Turkish fleets in the Med may be for naught. The one that mattered was Russian, and in the Black Sea. The Russkies, in search of a warm-water port, take Bulgaria while another army crosses the Caucasus to enter prime position in Armenia, threatening both Ankara and Smyrna.
