Well spoken, Nathan, though from the looks of it, you might just as well accuse Daniel as Christophe. It is only by the narrowest confluence of circumstances that you do not lose Belgium in addition to Brest. And then, of course, there's defeat in Spain. It's a tough year on the ol' Empire.

It is another stunning year of turnover. Eight supply centers switch hands. Once again, the bubbling cauldron of change is in the Black Sea region, as the coast from Sevastopol through Constantinople changes hands. As noted above, the Celts participate in three of the others. And in what seems the eyebrow-raiser of the turn, Wu Tang occupies Rome. Munich is not on the list of newly occupied centers.

There are no retreats (the only dislodged unit is destroyed), so we advance to Winter 1904. Lots of people both gain and lose a center:
