To Spain: We hoped F Tunis would move back to Libya. Hard to plan for an NMR. Luckiest "no move" ever.

To Egypt: We're all about fighting Turkey now. Up to you whether you want to partake. EMS is yours this turn, guaranteed. Take it. Wish you weren't in Tunis, for Spain's sake, but you can help make up for it by sending your fleet to help him now.

To Ukraine: Ditto re: Turkey. Hope you'll take WBS, but I appreciate you may have other concerns.

To Germany: C'mon my friend! Find a way to break through. I can't keep guessing right forever.

To Poland: Okay, before you said you needed Ukraine. Well, now I need him. Please wait to see if he will help vs. Turkey. If not, clobber him. Thanks.

To England: Hey, new guy! Having fun yet?

To Russia: Hmmm... tough straits. Convoy to Edinburgh and apply for asylum?

To France and Turkey: Don't go away mad, just go away. Give us back Peach and no one will get hurt.

Poland to Germany: It seems someone speaks with my tongue fur me. I have no intentions of attacking you. Whomever sent that vodka must have poisoned it, so be careful. I shall send you new vodka from the recently liberated Russian provinces.

Poland to Ukraine:
How can I help you take Iran? What are your intentions re: Turkey and Italy?
Poland to England:
Welcome to your throne, Monarch. Unfortunately, with this change in power, Poland feels no need to honor previous agreements and shall take up Germany's offer.

Press #3:

France is pleased with most of the events of the past campaign. Nice bounces in Tuscany and Libyan Sea, Luigi! You have moved aggressively against France since 1995, with consistent alliance from Germany, and all you have to show for it is the loss of Milano.

France to Germany: You are worried about my armies close to your border? Which armies? I wanted to build a fleet, for which purpose I was vacating Marseille. But my unit moving out of Marseille got bounced. It's too bad; I'll have to build an army. And while I'll defend what's mine (including Alsace), I have no particular desire to take Munich. Leave me alone and I'll fight with my southern neighbors. You've attacked France since 1995 with help from Italy and Spain, and all you have to show for it is an army in Alsace. Go on to more profitable ventures: you would gain more in one season attacking Austria than in your 3 years of attacking France.

France to Ukraine: Please help Turkey! France implores you, do not hate life. The Russian has been seduced by that Pollock with his promises of Vodka; do not also be fooled. Poland may attack Germany as the press said; more likely he'll attack you. You cannot win a two-front war; you need Turkey at your back. You have already lost time; make it up and help us diminish the threat posed to Europe by the Central Alliance of Germany, Poland, and Italy. At least whack Budapest so that Turkey can nab Serbia.

France to Turkey: It's vital to take Venice in the Spring, before Italian armies can get there to defend. You have my support.
France to Poland: I assume that you did not in fact write the press about attacking Germany (or if you did, that it was a ruse to lull Ukraine into a false sense of security). But consider the facts: with your two builds, you could snatch 2 or 3 supply centers from Germany this year. By contrast, a sustained attack against England will give you Norway - maybe. A sustained attack on Ukraine will take until 1999 to pay dividends, and by then Germany will be much, much stronger. This is your moment of strength.
