PREV  Summer 1999 Adjudication:  NEXT

France retreats A Als - Par and Russia retreats A Ura - Sib.

We have two draw proposals. The first is for a 7-way draw including Egypt, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Turkey, and Ukraine. The second is for a 4-way draw including Egypt, France, Germany, and Poland.

The deadline for votes on these proposals and Fall 1999 moves and press is this coming Tuesday, October 12, at 9 pm eastern.

Matt

Press #1:
France to the Board: Guys, this game is being piss-poorly played. First Russia, then Italy and now Turkey are reacting to /contretemps/ by giving away SC. How /effete/! France hereby expels the Turkish ambassador. Egypt, feel free to go off your diet and have some /dinde/.
Can we all just vote for a draw? I've submitted one that I think reasonably inclusive. If you have objections to a draw now, please voice them. At least let's narrow this down to see if it's Poland or Germany blocking it so we know they're solo-ambitious.

France to Poland: Verrrrry clever, making a "rookie mistake" in your orders so you could pretend to move your fleets away from Germany's border without actually doing it. Wink wink. The sooner the better, he's getting close to taking an SC from me (finally).

France to Spain, England, and Egypt: Honest Injun, will you guys fight against the Polish and Germans if we all work together? I'm game, having run out of good alternatives. For this turn, I'll support Polish A Alg - Bar. Spain, you can block that easily enough if you're not attacking Britain. Britain, you'll have to disband a fleet soon. Would you be willing to disband a southern fleet and fight Germany in the north? Egypt, you need to understand that Italy is firmly on the P/G side and must be defeated if we are to avoid a solo run.

France to England: I'll either support you into NAO with my fleet, or I'll move into Eng or Irish where we won't bounce.

France to Russia: Thanks for submitting orders these last thankless years. It almost makes up for your unwillingness to fight back against Poland early on. Happy trails.

Press #2:
Poland to Germany: Honest mistake. Moving north still, but will support if you've asked.

Poland to Italy: Apparently I am not as hungry as I thought I was. I will see if I can work up an appetite again.

Poland to Ukraine: DON-KHA. Interesting. Should I be concerned or was that a cover against a stab? Perhaps a support to HUN from POD will help both of us? Or a support of Italy's move.

Poland to Egypt: I am confused. First it was E/I/F/G vs P, now its a draw? Its a bit early to be drawing up draws. As far as I'm concerned, when it comes to draw time, allies and major (10+ SCs) countries get a seat at the table. That's why I'd like to see Ukraine grow.

Poland to Turkey: I don't understand the turn of heart, but will try to help where I can.
