Hi All,
We have officially entered the mid-game phase of our game. This is the phase when final alliances are usually made, when shaky alliances fall apart, and when the mettle of a GM is tested! How is the GM involved? This is the phase when orders aren't always checked carefully, when extensions are 'meant' to be sent but forgotten, when players start dropping out of contact, and when tough decision need to be made.
I was hoping this game would skip this phase and proceed directly to endgame, but alas on a board this large, that would be near impossible.
And so we suffer our first NMR power, most likely an Abandonment. I tried several times to reach the affected party, but to no avail. However, the game must move on. We are already looking for a replacement player who knows his time will be fleeting in the next couple months and is sticking it out, but would like someone to take his position. Trying to find 2 replacements at the same time is a death knell for a game and the rest of you shouldn't suffer that fate. The decision, following in Mike Sims' precedent, is to move forward with the abandoned party in Civil Disorder until a brave soul steps in to claim the crown. I will post another message to the Light Brigade attempting to locate our Knight in shining armor!
This is also the year to say Goodbye to 2 powers: Rogues and Magicians. Thank you to Warren and Mark! You both persevered under tough conditions and I thank you for continuing to play even when it seemed hopeless. Well done!
