In what is the clearest sign of the times that I have seen in any early-to-mid Diplomacy game, there are four units dislodged this turn -- all of them Italian! Perhaps no less surprising is that all four of them have only one valid retreat each, so I can take care of Summer myself and we'll go on to the Fall. Italy is surely suffering for his rapid early expansion, and the primary beneficiaries appear to be England and Germany, who may well run away with the game before the Balkans sort themselves out.

Speaking of England, Sean is now ready to return to the game, so we owe our appreciation to Tim, who served well as either Acting PM or Regent, depending on who you think ruled England at the turn of the century.
