The Kremlin has restored its centuries-old dominance over Eastern Europe, but the West is still up for grabs as all three of France, Italy, and Spain have reasonable claims to inherit the pole position among Europe's finest. The Muslim nations of Egypt and Turkey continue to feel the pinch of their neighbors, and Britain may yet be able to parlay himself into a managable position, if the situation merits it.
