That being the case, I won't comment upon the delicate Western balance which includes a Channel Opening by the English, an apparent DMZ in Burgundy, and an immediate French move to Spain. And don't even ask me about that Russian army in Galicia...

Hello from Germany.
 
As usual, something always happens at the beginning of the game.  I’m on the road 100% of the time, but normally have access at night.  (Think Up in the Air)
 
Of course, this week my wireless card decided to stop working, so I am getting a new laptop today.  I should have it up and running over the weekend, and I shouldn’t have any problems for the rest of the week-end.
 
This is just a note to let you know why I haven’t responded to the press received as of today.
 
Also, I would like to make a suggestion.  If everyone would put dc298 in your subject line, we can create a rule to put our press in the proper place.

We have seven confirmed players, so it's time to begin. We are now game DC289.


The country list is thus:

The deadline for Spring 1901 will be two weeks from today on Wednesday, January 20, 2010, at 05:00GMT. I will thereafter attempt to keep intervals between major seasons at just one week.


We'll be using the DC default house rules, with just a couple of modifications:
1. I'll send a confirmation whenever I receiver your orders. I'll try to check that they're valid, but I make no promises. Please remember that you're welcome to send multiple sets of orders in a given season (labeled numerically so that I know which to use), so it never hurts to send preliminary orders early.
2. Each of you will be allowed one 24-hour grace period for a missed deadline. Any further missed deadlines will be treated as NMRs.
3. I reserve the right to immediately replace any player registering an NMR in the year 1901.
4. I will attempt to find replacements for any abandoned countries.
5. I'll attach a game map and realpolitik file with each adjudication.
5. Because this is the first online game for many of you, I reserve the right to be just a little soft when enforcing rules 2 & 3.
