Fall 1902 Results - coebq   (Mar 01, 2009, 6:05 pm)
Yes, he lives...

I am so sorry folks. I had to travel on an emergency basis to the US for a serious family matter. It is not yet resolved, but I will endeavor to keep up with this game. With that and my SINCERE promise to keep you better informed in the fututre--no matter what--here are the long awaited results for Fall, 1902.

We had some good action around the board, particularly in the border region between Russia and Turkey where Turkey makes significant gains.

We also have our first retreat! Russian unit in Sevastopol can retreat to Armenia, Ukraine or Off-The-Board (OTB). Steve, please get me your retreat in ASAP and NLT 24 hours from now. I will ask for further builds/disbands to be-in immediately thereafter.

So next deadline is: Retreat due Monday, March 2 at 2359 GMT.

Builds/Disbands will then be due on Tuesday, March 3. It'll look like this:

+1 England
+1 France
+2 Turkey
-1 Russia

Get them in early or, if need be, wait until the deadline on Tuesday. Once again my apologies for the delay!

Here is what it looked like:

DC215 Draw Proposal - MattTheLesser   (Mar 01, 2009, 5:45 pm)
Since B proposed the draw publicly and with sufficient time before the
next deadline, I will allow it to come in for voting immediately, with
the deadline for votes the same as the next deadline for orders. Please
send your votes with your Fall 1909 orders.

Remember that by my house rules abstentions DO NOT strike down proposals
(although at least one yes vote is needed to pass a proposal), so if you
want to veto the proposal make sure you vote no.

A&E 090205 / DC240: Fall 1763 Retreat Season A... - NickHiggins   (Mar 01, 2009, 2:10 pm)
A&E 090205 / DC240: The Fall 1763 Retreat Season has been adjudicated. The deadline for Winter 1763 adjustments is tomorrow, Mon Feb 2nd.

For the 2 SC powers, the 3rd SC that they capture becomes a home supply center. This applies to Spain (Marseille) and Turkey (Tunis) this year. On the map, home SCs are identified by a round SC marker, with other SCs identified by a square SC marker. As an example, the Prussians can build in Berlin, but not in Mecklenburg.

DC215 Winter 1908 - Kenshi777   (Feb 28, 2009, 11:49 pm)
I would like to publicly propose a 3 way GIR draw.  I won't get past 15 going in either direction without being stopped, and these alliances will swing back and forth ad nauseum.   All three of us have some prospect of a solo, but none of us will let each other get all the way there.  Just as Joe and I turned on Warren, and now Warren and I are turning on Joe for a while, etc. etc. and in time Joe and Warren will turn on me.  This game has achieved stability - fluid stability, but stability all the same.

Both of these gentlemen have delivered a worthy performance, and I would be honored to share in a 3-way draw with them, if they are willing.

DC230 - Getting The Blood Flowing - former.trout   (Feb 28, 2009, 10:19 pm)
Heya folks,

Wanted to thank you all for hanging in there in DC-230 while Babak dealt with some serious computer troubles.  I was in touch with Babak last week and he mentioned that he would be receiving new gear later this week and would be back online at that point.  Hopefully at this point, he'll be able to jump in with both feet and resume his DC-230 duties.

That being said, Babak has given the green light for your friendly DC mods to gather orders and pump out one or two turns in the meantime.  As such, I'd humbly ask you friendly folks to forward me your Winter 01 adjustments.  I will issue the Winter turn and we'll see if we can get the gears and cogs moving.

I'll set a soft deadline for Monday, Mar 2nd (11:59 PM GMT).  Owing to the inactivity over the last couple weeks, this is only a soft deadline - if we need a little more time then by all means we'll take it.

If we manage to rope all Winter orders in by Monday, I'll be looking to have a quick turn-around for Spring and will set the Spring deadline for next Friday or Saturday.

Cheers everyone.  Thanks again for your extreme patience!

DC215 Spring 1909 Results - MattTheLesser   (Feb 28, 2009, 8:53 pm)
This game never ceases to surprise me. This spring sees Russia attempt
to pull out of Germany, only to find the road blocked by German fleets,
while Italy cries "Westward Ho!," only to also find a German army in the
way.

There was only one retreat due, and it only had one option, so I've sent
Russia's A Sil - War. Warren just let me know if you want it OTB.

Fall 1909 is up next, and we'll have it this coming Wednesday, March 4,
at 9 pm eastern. Please note that I am going to be extremely busy this
upcoming week, so bear with me if there are any delays.

Really? Misorder again??!!?? Jason, c'mon man its been several turns in a row that you cannot seem to get it right. And each time you mess up you let Trout farther and farther in behind you... almost beginning to think you are throwing the game to him...

Anyhow... as for an extra room Vegas, I would offer it if I had... you can occupy the floor for a while if needs be... hope for your sake it doesn't come to that!!

DC236 Winter Blitz Board 6 - Winter 07 Adjustments - former.trout   (Feb 28, 2009, 2:15 am)
Heya folks,

Some interesting happenings in the Winter of 07 as Italy retreats to Tyrolia and Russia fails to submit a retreat, necessitating the disband of the Rumanian force and giving the Tsar that third build...

Meanwhile, no disbands were received from Germany.  So the three disbands owed are resolved as per the default disband rules:

Units furthest from Home SCs: F English Channel (3 spaces from Home SC)
Fleets before Armies:  F North Sea (2 spaces from Home SC)
Alphabetical: A Galicia (2 spaces from Home SC)

Finally, once again a thank you to Michael for playing out the Turkish position.  We bid him farewell and move onto Spring 08 - deadline will be set for Monday, March 2nd (11:59 PM GMT).

Cheers!

DC232 autumn and winter 1907 results - coryfucius   (Feb 27, 2009, 3:32 pm)
Italy falls back to Rome, and all the newly-built units are armies.

An endgame proposal has been offered -- a 4-way draw among Austria, France, Italy, and Turkey. Please cast your vote on this proposal along with your spring 1908 orders, which will be due Monday 3/2 at 3pm Central (US) / 21:00 GMT.

DC235 Dirkfell F1907 - Results: SEND WINTER TO THE... - former.trout   (Feb 27, 2009, 2:15 pm)
Laurence.

To clarify - it was me that retreated your unit OTB last turn, not Garry.

Secondly, it is ALWAYS the players responsiblity to get orders in - not the GMs.  That holds not just for the Winter Blitz, but for any PBEM game that you play.

If you have more questions about why I retreated your unit OTB in the absence of an order last winter, please feel free to drop me a line.  I'll do my best to explain it more fully.  =)

Cheers,

Trout

Not to disparage because he WAS filling in while I was getting knee-deep into birthday cheer but I didn't do the retreat phase. I didn't auto-retreat after the Fall adjudication because there were multiple retreats needed [not just one]. Sorry for the confusion and that I was unclear in my Fall orders that previous turn.

Garry,

My complaint is about the last turn. The ONLY option for retreat was to WAR (like BER now). But instead of retreating to WAR you disbanded the army.
The case is exactly similar here and now you retreat the unit !?
One time you retreat, one time you disband J Do you throw dice ?

Laurence,
In this case, the ONLY option for a retreat was to Ber. There was no other retreat available. And, given that the only build location was also Berlin if you retreated OTB, I chose to move you to Berlin and give you the option of telling me you would rather build a F. If you can spot a place that you had an option for a retreat, please let me know. The program that adjudicates is usually spot on but, because it requires my human input, could render an error if I made a mistake.

Garry,

You are not logical with yourself.
Last turn you OTBed my army of GAL instead of retreating it to WAR (the only choice) and now it’s the same case and you automatically retreat her. ?!

Anyway I keep the retreat to BER

Laurence.

Turkey Keeps Sev BUT ONLY Because of England Vacating It [Misorder]
Italy in RESURGENCE!
Successful Turn for F/I/A? You Be the Judge.
What an Evenly Matched Game.

All,
Germany only had one retreat from Munich [Berlin]. I took it. That means that he has no builds. He could of course retreat OTB and build in Berlin but I would bet good money on it being an army! If he wishes otherwise, please submit as such.

Other than that we have no retreats. We have 1 remove [England] and 2 builds for Italy. That concludes business for the Fall.

PLEASE SEND ORDERS TO THE ORDER BOX. I AM OUT OF TOWN TOMORROW NIGHT AND CANNOT ADJUDICATE. I AM BACK FOR MONDAY'S DEADLINE.

Winter due at 5pm CST tomorrow. Fearless Trout will handle the unit adjustments tomorrow.

Thanks.
