DC232 spring 1904 results, with Turkish orders - coryfucius   (Feb 03, 2009, 11:19 am)
Sultan Nick has benefitted from the Orders inbox, which confirmed that he did indeed send Turkey's spring 1904 orders on time, even though his e-mail didn't arrive in my Yahoo mailbox until much later. As a result, I have to re-adjudicate the spring 1904 turn. The only changes are that the Russian army in Ukraine successfully fends off the Austrian attack from Rumania, which leaves an Austrian army stuck in Budapest due to the bounce.

Now there are no summer 1904 retreats due, so we move directly to fall 1904, for which orders are due Thursday 12/5, at 3pm Central (US) / 21:00 GMT. Sorry for the confusion, everyone!

Cory

Cory

Please can you check your inbox and the tournament orders e-mail address for my orders. I sent them in on the deadline yesterday and the material difference is that I supported the Russian army in Ukraine which was dislodged in the adjudication.

Nick

I could not locate orders for Turkey ... fortunately for the Sultan, his forces suffer no immediate losses.

France keeps up the pressure on both England and Italy , marching into both Kiel and Munich . Italy does protect his homeland, as France and Italy bounce in Piedmont . Austria pushes aside the Russian army in Ukraine , and the combined Austrian/Italian navies surround Smyrna .

There is one retreat due, the dislodged Russian army in Ukraine may retreat to Sevastopol or OTB. The retreat deadline is tomorrow, Tuesday 2/3 at 3pm Central (US) / 21:00 GMT.

Fall 1904 orders are due Thursday 12/5, also at 3pm Central (US) / 21:00 GMT. Prelims are highly encouraged!

DC215 Spring 1907 Results - MattTheLesser   (Feb 03, 2009, 10:40 am)
Some interesting developments this season as Italy pushes a couple units
west, Germany takes somewhat of a break from his attack on France, and,
something I don't think I've ever seen before, a Russian fleet heads to
the Helgoland Bight. In the east the Sultan suffers our only
dislodgement, and sees his F Con disbanded.

Thus we move directly to Fall 1904, which will be due this coming
Monday, February 9th, at 9 pm eastern. Send me final orders and I'll
adjudicate early!

Marvelous - now that it's a day too late, I notice that my revised orders never successfully left my mailbox. So the prelims that I sent at the same time as the winter builds (before negotiating with anybody) just became official. What a wonderful day this is turning out to be.

DC-227 Update - TheWhiteWolf   (Feb 03, 2009, 7:15 am)
Folks,
I've had a few offers to take on the Austrian position. The first taker never got back to me, so I've just written to the second to ask if he's still interested. I hope to have an answer in the next 24 hours or so. I'll let you all know.

adjudicate until this evening. If anyone wants to make last minutes
changes - you've got until 18:00 GMT.

DC222 Two Steps To Anarchy - Spring 1904 - Spinach... - former.trout   (Feb 02, 2009, 11:15 pm)
Heya folks,

Some manage to eat their spinach in the Spring, some wish that they had. Things get dicey for England despite a good effort while the Italians find out that it might be high tide...

There were two retreats but both only had one option other than OTB so I took the liberty. The English fleet from London was sent north to Yorkshire while the French Belgian contingent found a new home in Picardy. If OTB is preferred in either case, just let me know. Otherwise, Fall 04 orders will be set due for Monday, Feb 9th (11:59 PM GMT).

Just let me know if you spot any errors. Cheers all!

Autumn 1901 arrives with a bang! - coebq   (Feb 02, 2009, 9:17 pm)
Fellow leaders of the known world,

And just like that we have war! Or a lot of movement around the board anyway. Lots of positioning, but otherwise short on audacity (or maybe not...) certainly no bounces and no retreats, so we'll go directly to the Fall turn.

I have only attached the final position docs this time as the moves are pretty self-evident. You'll normally get a "moves" map too.

Since everyone had their orders in early (thanks!!), let's go ahead and have your orders to me by next Tuesday, Feb 3. If you have a conflict, let me know ASAP.

One admin note: please include the type of unit with your orders, ie, army "a" or, fleet "f". If you spot a mistake, please let me know right away.

Here is what happened:

Austria: A Budapest - Serbia.
Austria: F Trieste Hold.
Austria: A Vienna - Budepest.

England: F Edinburgh - Norwegian Sea.
England: A Liverpool - Edinburgh.
England: F London - North Sea.

If I have the option to relocate my fleet Spa to the north
coast because of Italy's seismic I would like to do so.

Therefore: having heard otherwise from Matt, I am now relocating the French fleet in Spain to the NORTH coast. I will send out a revised map in the morning. Remind me if I forget Smile

I could not locate orders for Turkey... fortunately for the Sultan, his forces suffer no immediate losses.

France keeps up the pressure on both England and Italy, marching into both Kiel and Munich. Italy does protect his homeland, as France and Italy bounce in Piedmont. Austria pushes aside the Russian army in Ukraine, and the combined Austrian/Italian navies surround Smyrna.

Well, ain't this one just a hoot. Some clever moves this season. Italy closes one of the Iberian canals. France distances himself from Naples. Russia makes a puddle of the Barents Sea. England gets funky with Rule 8. And Turkey appears finally slated for discontinuation. Unless something else should occur.

Austria:
Split Ank/Arm, Join Bla/Smy (*Bounces with Turkish Order*)

England:
Split Ska/Swe - Join Nwy/Den
Note: English F Swe relocates to Sweden¢s eastern coast in accordance with Rule 8.

France:
Tys and Nap separate, Rom and Ion connect

Italy:
MAt/Spa disconnect Por/NAf connect. Delete canal in Spa to create two separate coasts.
Note: I am relocating the French F Spa to the east coast unless I hear otherwise from Matt.

Russia:
split Barents and StP, connect Nwy and edge of board.

Turkey:
Black sea and Ankara Sep; Armenia and Smyrna connect (*Bounces with Austrian Order*)

Still just expressing your opinion, Matt? Or making the rest of the players and one GM go through the motions of knocking you out of the game, because you've got nothing better to do? You certainly aren't proposing an F/G tie in good faith, since you know it'll be voted down.

dc231 Spring '04 results - notasb   (Feb 02, 2009, 9:02 am)
Schwitzer Gazette

Reports have come in that the Russian fleet has returned to port due to three square holes having appeared in every ships side. Four holes are reported in each French ship, but a swift application of cheeses has allowed for the fleets to remain at sea temporarily. All Turkish fleets have already sunk, but seem active despite this.

Simultaneously, Austrian refugees are reporting that the Italian forces, emulating Hannibal, have crossed the mountains on green elephants : most such eye-witnesses have been arrested.
On the French front, giant blue gorillas have been fighting German armies with seemingly endless ammunition. Nothing interesting at all has occurred to the English.

Best to assume all Europe outside of Switzerland has gone mad.
