Wow ... it was tough and go right up till the end. At first I wanted to work with Germany -- having lived in Canada for 17 years I figured we could trust each other, but England was just so much more available for communication and he pushed for us to attack Germany -- and I really didn't hesitate.
I tried to keep open communication with as many players as possible. Turkey continued to ask for my help against Italy and Austria, but Italy wasn't coming after me so I wasn't going after them.
As the game progressed, I continually warned Austria of Russia's desire for a solo victory. I really tried working with England, but there was some slow communication and he took a move that was actually meant to help him against Russia as a stab. It wasn't a stab. I could not convince otherwise. Frankly, it would have been the wimpiest stab in the history of the game, but England was dead set on it being a threat so he continued to threaten me unless I removed it. Communication with England, although consistent was also not really ... nice. He was bossy and a know-it-all. Even when I had weakened him significantly and warned him about the Russian/Austrian danger, England continued to threaten me if I didn't leave his waters. I was tired of all my attempts to reach an agreement where we could work together with him.
Finally Austria woke up to the danger of a Russia solo. England continued to hang on until Russia was convinced to by me to wipe him out. I no longer had to worry about that pesky 4th fleet.
When Austria retreated to Piedmont, I become concerned that the Russian/Austrian alliance might once again be on. I couldn't just sit back and do be overrun. I could protect Marseilles, but not Spain or Tunis. I needed to replace them. I went for Belgium and Naples. Luckily my fears regarding Austria were wrong and thankfully, my surprise attacks against Belgium and the seas surrounding England were successful.
I am not sure who did not vote for the first Russia/France/Austria proposal, but I am very thankful that this EOGP passed.
Congrats to all for a wonderfully entertaining game. Good luck to you all in Round 2.
Anthony/France.

This has been an absolutely fantastic game to Run. You all have been a great, dynamic team and I would be honored to play with, GM, or be GMd by each and every one of you. Every turn, I have been shocked by what suprises you guys have in store for everyone, including myself. Everyone, even those of you who've been eliminated, played very well. Feel free to send out EOG statements, and good luck in all your future endeavors.
