I'm not sure how much it has to do with Canada. People everywhere tend to cheer for the underdog. I don't think anyone views the U.S. as an underdog at anything, because of its global political and cultural domination. Match up poor little Ghana against big, rich America, and it's no contest, in my opinion.

I just got done watching the U.S. - Ghana game in St. Catherine's, Ontario. In a bar filled with Canadians cheering for Ghana. WTF?!? I guarantee you this - if you went to a bar in America, and Canada was playing Ghana, you would not have seen that. I searched all over Ontario on my vacation looking for a single U.S. Men's National Team shirt - not one to be found, though you could get all the Greece, Mexico, France (out of the Cup), Italy (out of the Cup), and Russia (never in the Cup?!?) that you wanted. Again - WTF Canada?!?
