Minor error at the bottom of this message.  The Deadline is 24:00 hours on Monday 28; but, that is equivalent to 8 pm on Monday (US EDT), not the 6:00 pm listed.  It is equivalent to 6 pm on Monday where I am (US MDT).  Hope I didn't cause too much confusion with that one.

If you need help figuring out what the equivalent time for 24:00 (GMT) is at your Time Zone please drop me a line and I will provide any assistance that I can.

Thanks,
        Darryl

Welcome Players to Round 2 of Winter Blitz 2011.  The Countries have been assigned by me with the intent to try and put you in a different location that you were in Round 1 (i.e. if you were on an edge in Round 1; you should now be located on the opposite end of the map and closer to center or vice versa).  The Countries are assigned as follows:

ID                                Country            Name               Email                                        Location

AncientMemories          England            Phin Agar         mcagar(at)hotmail.com                Weston, MA, US

bret_pollack                  Germany           Bret Pollack      bret_pollack(at)hotmail.com      Marriottsville, MD, US

JeffreyK                       France             Jeffrey Krauss  diplomacy(at)jeffreyk.com            Kirkland, WA, US

Koensig                        Austria             Scott Johnston   Johnston.scott(at)comcast.net     Federal Way, WA, US

RICH3520                    Russia              Rich Sloper       RICH3520(at)AOL.COM         WILLISTON PARK, NY, US

Stendaswargames         Italy                  Dorian Love      dlove(at)roedeanschool.co.za     Johannesburg, Gauteng, ZA

untitled36                      Turkey              John Reside        untitled36(at)hotmail.com           IL, US

You are all have already been told this throughout Round 1; however, I will repeat this one item because it is really important.  Get in the habit of including orders(at)diplomaticcorp.com  in the "cc" of all your orders.  If for some reason I fail to provide an adjudication, this will allow the moderators to step in.  If they do step in and you did not "cc" your orders to orders(at)diplomaticcorp.com, you will receive an NMR for the season.  No second chances, no excuses received . . . you have been warned (multiple times, I am sure).

A few other things I would recommend; First, use "Preliminary" orders.  Decide on a set of orders early and send me something . . . anything, just so long as you do not get caught by the deadline.  You are welcome to send in as many sets of orders you like.  I will always use the last set received.  Second, always send a complete set of orders.  Even if you have 13 units and you are only making one change, send the full set of orders (it is simple to cut and paste).  You are welcome to bold, italic and/or highlight the change if you like; but always send a complete set.  This will keep the confusion to a minimum.  Next, please put "DC377", your Country, and the current season in the subject line of your emails (i.e. DC377, Austrian Orders, Spring 1901).  This will help me find your orders efficiently.  The last thing is to have fun.  Remember, this is a game.  No one is going to die because your neighbor stabbed you before you could stab him, or because he NMR'd and left you holding the bag.  No need to be hostile; just have fun.  This will allow everyone to have fun . . . including the guy that might be your neighbor in the next game.

Remember, this is a fast paced Tournament; a full game year every week.  On the other hand everyone is dealing with the same issue; time is short.  Do the best you can with the time you have.  If your neighbor is not responding as quickly as you would like . . . well, he probably isn't responding to his other neighbors that well either.  Course, there are other possibilities too . . . after all, this is Diplomacy.

Welcome . . . good luck, and let the lies begin.  Spring 1901 Deadline; 24:00 hrs (GMT), Monday 28, 2011 = 6 PM (US EDT), Monday 28, 2011.

Your friendly, neighborhood GM.
