Captain of the Watch

Farsightedness: The Butterfly Effect states that a butterfly that flaps its wings in Malaysia could cause a typhoon in British Columbia. So too could minor variations in one part of the board affect play across the board. The Captain of Watch asesses the board for all possible impacts - both immediate and long-term.

It's the opening moves of our game, and already we have a bounce other than the usual one in the Black Sea. Also notable are the German move into Burgundy and the Italian move to Tyrolia.
