Hi Players,

PRESS

Once again, we have PRESS:  Germany fights for survival, how much longer can
she hold out?

GM's take:  Well, seeing as how she is only one SC off the lead, that's a
strangely pessimistic question, don't you think?

Your take:  I don't know.  Send me some press and -- assuming it isn't in
terribly bad taste -- I'll publish it.

WHAT'S HAPPENING?

Our lead story this season:  Central Countries (and England) Stop Squabbling
Long Enough to Slap Back Surging Russians

Despite the Tsar's appeasing gesture last Winter, waiving one of his builds,
it seems that act of appeasement was not enough to save him from a bad case
of ELS (Early Leader Syndrome).  England and Germany teamed up to eject
Russian units from the Scandinavian capitals, while further south Italy
helped Austria to reclaim his capital from the Russian interloper.  The net
damage to Russia is only one unit gone, leaving him in a tie for the lead.
The bigger question is whether this signals a true coalition against The
Bear, or just a minor "market correction."

In other news:

Holland still unclaimed!  Dutch protesters flood the streets, demanding that
warring neighbors "Show Holland the love!  Invade now!"
A French army slips quietly into Belgium as the English fleet leaves port to
spend the winter on the North Sea.  Which commander do you think is going to
be toasted more sincerely by his men this Christmas?
French army Gascony thumbs down a passing fleet and hitches a ride to North
Africa.  Local camel jockeys insist newcomers camp downwind.
Turkish forces quietly push forward through the Balkans.  Observers report a
complete lack of local resistance.
Italy and Turkey bounce in Eastern Med.  Both sides claim defensive
considerations.

RETREATS:

Russian A Norway can retreat to Finland or St Petersburg or OTB.
Russian F Sweden can retreat to Finland or Gulf of Bothnia or Skagerrak or
OTB.
Russian A Vienna can retreat to Bohemia or OTB.

ADJUSTMENTS:

Russia must lose one.
Austria and England are even.
Everyone else gets to build one.

See tables below for full details of SC ownership and adjustments.

NEXT DEADLINE:  Retreats and Adjustments are due tomorrow, April 20, by
18:00 Eastern time.  As was described last week, adjustment orders may be
made conditional on the Russian retreats.

Cheers,
Chris

Orders as resolved.  Please notify the GM immediately if you spot an error.
