Yeah, she was killer.  I freely admit to writing a somewhat callous message to her early in the game, calling her out on that, because I simply couldn't believe a novice could handle a game the way she was.  Watch out, sheep, a wolf is loose among us!  ;o)
Thanks to all for your kind words.  Already suspect I'm going down big in Round 2, lol.

Cheers,Marc

Thanks to all for my first-ever game of Diplomacy. It was a fun and eye-opening initiation into this wonderful little corner of the gaming universe. I look forward to future games with all of you (France I'm especially looking at you! ).
Congratulations Marc- who taught me about stalemate lines, DMZ's, and the importance of the long game. Thank you for a wonderful game! You deserve the win.
Good luck all with the rest of the tournament. Happy gaming.

Hi gang,

Here is the fateful turn.  I am not sure if this is proper protocol, but I am doing it anyway  Smile

Germany has achieved 18 supply centers, and nothing in the retreats is going to change that. So I ran the retreats as ordered or as I assumed they would order, and the game is now OVER.  The final status is pasted below the adjudication.

Congrats to Marc for a well deserved win, and THANK YOU to all participants who were great at getting orders in, no matter the situation on the board.

I wish I could say the same for some of my round 2 players........

Although not required, you can send End of Game Statements to the group... I'm sure people would be glad to read them.

Cheers,

Warren
