Heya all,

My apologies but it looks as though our friendly Nomad is still in transition. I've given Heath his 24 hour grace period and we'll extend to this evening at 11:59 PM GMT. Which is roughly 10.5 hours from the sending of this email.

I do have alternatives if orders are still not forthcoming at this time. An unaffiliated party has volunteered to serve and send in random orders for the Nomads - turning the position into an "armed neutral". This person is not involved with the game in any way and would send orders in based solely on the map.

Why the "armed neutral" rather than enlist another player to play out the position? There are two reasons in my mind:
1. I do not wish to delay the first turn any more than necessary - which would have to happen if we sought out another player and gave him time to diplome.
2. I feel that with the first week already gone by, any player stepping into the Nomad position - with their unique starting layout - would be SEVERELY disadvantaged. All of their opponents will have already had over a week to conspire and lay plans that would take quite a lot of work to shift.

My hope is that Heath will send in orders so we can avoid all of this. I do welcome all opinions about the "armed neutral Nomads" if you have them, though.

Cheers,

Trout

Diplomacy games may contain lying, stabbing, or deliberately deceiving communications that may not be suitable for and may pose a hazard to young children, gullible adults, and small farm animals.
