Our first turn is here! After all of your wheeling and dealing, here are the results. Given how Vikings' players are significantly tangled, all out war can start right at the beginning, as the French found out the hard way. Our game started with significant Danish and Burgundian co-operation to the detriment of France. However, the Danes did also move into a Burgundian center. So you've got a confused GM on your hands! Norway heads north, if that's possible, the Swedes and Slavs come to early blows, and it looks as if distrust may run amok in the south with a surprising amount of units holding.

Retreats in our first season! Unless you're French, how exciting!

French A Hamburg can retreat to Oldenburg or Hessen or
Mecklenburg or OTB.
French A Paris can retreat to Maine or Tours or OTB.

The independent army of Buda was also dislodged, but per game rules it will be disbanded.

Housekeeping: It was pointed out to me that the names on the maps can be quite hard to read. I agree, so as an experiment I've posted a map using just the names on the map itself, and one with RealWorld's (more visible) names on top. Let me know which you prefer.

Also, I just realized that the Danes are referred to as Danmark in this game. Considering my name, I think I have to back Eamon now.
