Well now! One turn in the books - and it did not quite go as I had thought it would. For one, Bolivia is not the "Belgium of South America" that I had imagined, but more notably, Peru has taken it on the chin hard, losing two home SCs to finish the opening year as the only power not to build. Meanwhile, Brazil, Chile, & Colombia all doubled in size and all neutral centers are rapidly brought into control of one of the five powers. Therefore after Turn One, this gunboat game is zero-sum. With twenty-four total SCs on the board, 50%+1 means fourteen are required for the solo. Our three powers with six SCs are all 43% of the way there...!
