Oh Wow! I think this is the strangest season of Diplomacy I have ever seen!! In my limited experience with GMing Diplomacy, I have seen orders revised one or two times. This season: I had 9 (nine!) order revisions for one player! It isn't a problem, it just shows how much was changing this season. Plus, there were surprises all over this map.
England was able to hold on to Ireland, but it appears he will be losing both Liverpool and Alexandia. Germany made modest advances, with the exception of taking Liverpool. France was able to dislodge Spain from Granada, but didn't have as much success with Lisabon. Italy started the season with about a fifth of the map, and is dominating western Africa. Italy was surprised to lose Austria to USSR - there was just no where else to go...
USSR orchestrated a plan to protect his southern border with Turkey and, with Germany's help, removed Italy from Austria. Turkey was able to dislodge Balkans from Greece, and appears to have taken control of Alexandia. Balkans was just trying to hold on, but that didn't work out too well. Unless something amazing happens, we will be saying good-by to Balkans in Winter adjustments.
To save some time, I automatically retreated the two dislodged units to their only available options. Italy's disbanded unit had no options except to disband.
