ENGINEERED PRESS RELEASES
-------------------------
To the King of Prussia, His Imperial and Royal Majesty, Kaiser Wilhelm II:
From the King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and
Ireland, His Royal Highness Edward VII

Dearest Willie,
It was an unfortunate misunderstanding of good intentions on both our parts, we fear, that has led our two fraternal nations to this brinkmanship.

Please forgive our avuncular fondness and concern, but we feel it prudent to suggest that the best use for your Baltic navy may be as scrap iron from which to build another army. Nevertheless, as you can see we have chosen to accommodate your request, to enable you to apply your forces to the East. We hope you will come around to our thinking on this subject.

It is our belief that you can have success with our assistance
in the Russian heartland (and that you shall not require a
naval presence to do so. We are prepared to allow you the
honor and privileges of occupation in the rest of Russia, while
our army shall remain in the capital with your cousin our niece,
according to her insistence. However, we feel it may improve
our coordination efforts and supply lines for you to yield
Spain to us sometime in the future, after your foothold has
been established in Russia.

Your Own Uncle and Your Friend, Bertie
