PREV  Spring 1945 Adjudication:  NEXT

Good Evening. I hope everyone is staying well. I am in my third week of working from home... it is staring to get monotonous.

As you might be able to tell, the End of Game proposal failed–we are continuing the game. The question was asked this week about the number of supply centers needed for a solo game. The answer is 27.

First, to address an issue before I get an email later... Italy ordered a fleet unit from Tanger to Granada. This order failed. The reason is that, while armies can use land bridges (the red arrows in 3 locations around the map), fleets must go through the water territories first. So, an army ordered from Tanger to Granada would have been a valid move without an convoy, but the fleet would have to go from Tanger to South Atlantic Ocean before going on to Granada.

On to the results... England is all but done, USSR has landed on the last remaining English Supply Center. USSR however will probably not last too much longer either as his three supply centers in the east are all occupied by other countries. Germany did some repositioning in the west, but stayed defensive in the center of the map. Germany's army in Austria thanks to Italy and Turkey however. France is moving north again and may have hopes to regain a home supply center. Italy, with the exception of taking Austria did not make many advances this season for a variety of reasons. Turkey appears to be in possession of two supply centers that used to belong to USSR, and assisted with Germany's disbanding in Austria.

Fall 1945 orders are due on Monday, April 13 at 8:30 pm PDT (03:30 14-4-20 UTC)
