PREV  Fall 1909 Adjudication:  NEXT

This turn sees the end of two great nations. Germany was invaded in 1901, spent the rest of the game on the back foot, and did a truly admirable job to make it this far but an Austrian army in Munich sees the German story come to a close. France's elimination may have a bit more pain in it - had they guessed right they would have survived and perhaps turned the tide in England's favour, but alas. Huge thanks to both our French and German players for sticking it out to the end - best of luck in your future games.

Elsewhere, the Italians are knocked down to a lonely colony in Marseilles, the Austrians reach 17 and the English 16. But sharing is caring, and perhaps that's why we have a two way Austria/England draw on the table. This draw proposal will run until Spring and requires YES votes from all active players to pass.

There were two retreats. One was for the French armies but as they are eliminated, I disbanded the unit. The Italian army in Smyrna was also disbanded, but as Syria was it's only option for retreat. I sent it there automatically. Italy can send it OTB should they wish.

Winter! Here's what y'all are doing.

AH to France - I did not see a clear path to victory. Perhaps post game comments you could share your thoughts.

AH to Germany - We applaud your bold move and hope you find a nice beach on the North Sea. Unfortunately your move requires the benevolent Austria to protect Munich from the rapacious English/French. On the other hand should there be a standoff in Munich and you are still in range we will support you back in with the caveat of course that should fortune smile upon us and that would be the 18th center - well you know. Should you survive please indicate in the winter press what your acceptance or decline of the offer.
-----
England - Austria: Methinks you doth protest too much. You did spend much of the game encouraging me to attack France and supported Germany against him at a key moment. Get real!

Edward V11 to Franz Joseph - suspect you are going to pip me by one - congratulations.

England - Germany; Why vacate Munich? Survival was yours! Get yourself eliminated and hand Austria the win. Weird! Plus the beer in Munich his awesome.

British Government to players: Edward V11 is feeling even worst!
----
Italy: Infamy! Infamy! They have all got it in for me!

Italy-England: You may have enjoyed our hospitality, but we didn't invite you back.

Pizza-All: So long and thanks for the game.
