We've hit our goal of 42 entrants, and there's still time left. Keep in mind as players join beyond the 42, you may not get into the tournament unless we reach clear to 49. Very doable! Sign up!

Dc137 Winter 1906 - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
Dc137 Winter 1906
and the express game is back on...
AUSTRIA:: Builds F Sevastapol.
ENGLAND:: Builds F Liverpool
FRANCE:: NDR - Disband A Ruhr.
GERMANY:: EVEN
ITALY:: Build F Tun and F Smy.
RUSSIA:: GONE
TURKEY:: -1 (NO NEED TO SUBMIT)
So we see Turkey officially eliminated.
Now a couple of changes, to the rules, due to the new GM.
1) I am generally not at my email 24/7 like your previous GM so i will do my best to maintain the express schedule. I can most likely do a 24 hour turn around whilst I am on holiday but once back at work (End of Jan), it will alter slightly. I will try not to set any weekend deadlines that dont give at least a friday to get moves in.
2) My deadlines are in Australian time, generally 9pm Australian EST.
3) We will be using my house rules (check them on the site) which gives everyone one grace period to get moves in. France has already used his
4) I've re-created the map from scratch so please check for errors. Any map errors need to be brought to me before the next deadine or will stand.
so your deadline for Spring 1907 will be (because of the holiday period)
Tuesday 2nd January, 9pm Australian EST.
Hopefully our france will sign in by then to cause Chaos with that last unit.

DC116 Vogon's Revenge - Spring 1909 - Little Monst... - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
Spring of 09 was played out like a fiddle
To Russia, the Turk's moves were no riddle
The struggle 'tween north - south
A fierce clash at Danube's mouth
With Austria caught tight in the middle
-------------------------------------------
Hey guys,
The titanic struggle between England/Russia and Italy/Turkey continues. Austria keeps on in the tradition of lending red support to the Russians. For now.. =)
With the Spring moves going so smoothly, no retreats are required before the Fall. The Fall 1909 deadline will be set for Friday, January 4th (11:59 PM GMT). As always, if you spot any mistakes in this adjudication, please just let me know.
Also - please don't forget that these are the last few days to sign up for DC's very own tournament, the Winter Blitz. With the speedy deadlines and the gift certificate prize, this one is definitely going to be one for the books. If you haven't signed up for a position yet, my question is Why the heck not?! =) Check out the Winter Blitz page on the website at < www.diplomaticcorp.com>
Cheers!

Good grief guys, your GM is a spazzoid..
I don't know how I did it, but I missed the English order for the army in Burgundy. I sincerely apologize for this. With the Burgundy order adjudicated, Paris succeeds into Gascony and the English forces manage their ring-around-the-rosie..
Thanks to the players who pointed out this error, and my apologies for any confusion. Fall 1909 deadline remains Friday, January 4th (11:59 PM GMT.)

What most didn’t get tho, was the not-so-hidden-after-all clue, the name of the map… Pleasantview… comes from the greatest game of all time, Simcity 4, where it’s the default neighborhood the game is played in.
Enjoy!

DC139 Live In Rapid City - DIAS Resolution - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
Heya folks,
Preference lists are all in and the weights calculated. And I'm happy to announce that the most favored preference is a DIAS resolution. My apologies to Nathan for ending the game with him so close to a solo, but I also agree with the majority opinion that this might be the most fair solution to ALL players.
Gentlemen, its been an absolute pleasure to run this game. The rapid pace of the game is only making me look forward to the upcoming Winter Blitz which will be run along the same lines.
As always, EOG statements are welcomed and encouraged. Once again, a hearty congratulations to all players for a game well played. =)
Cheers!

Well Boys, I hate to end it on an NMR but I think that about wraps it up outside of the EOGs. I count 4 automatic gains for yours truly in the Fall which would put me at 19. Shall we call it a game?
So, I don't know what your recommended/preferred protocol is Matt but I am formally requesting an Austrian solo victory vote in lieu of playing out Fall Movements & Adjustments. But would be happy to play it out to the end if anyone votes otherwise.

my imprecise jumbling of history. So Italy NMRs; CD will ensue if it happens
again. This means his dislodged F Tun is automatically disbanded, and thus,
with no other retreats, we progress directly to Fall 1909.
Fall 1909 will be due this coming Friday, January 4, at 9 pm eastern.

dc118 & 122 Minigame OVER! - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
Nice job Penger. No way that I would have gotten the hidden clue - that was a sweet little piece of work...
Congrats to the mini-game winner. Hopefully we all can stop him from soloing as well. *wink*

I hear it's been fun tho, I enjoyed the minigame -- it was fun when designing the map to theme up the various areas. Tho next year's map will have all the names in a constant (and more legible!) font…

And the long awaited other two clues! Yes the theme was my favorite games. Most ppl got that.
What most didn't get tho, was the not-so-hidden-after-all clue, the name of the map… Pleasantview… comes from the greatest game of all time, Simcity 4, where it's the default neighborhood the game is played in.
Enjoy!

PS… The site is all updated w proper races, so you no longer have to refer to yourselves as "Mr Blue, Mr Pink," etc…
Oh yeah and Attached, Icon set 4, the Dwarves

dc109 s210 BC correction - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
2 errors!
The Scythians did not order Iaz-Bis, they ordered Iaz-Boj. This move succeeds, Gaul’s support is therefore void, and the lone Germanian is NOT dislodged.
The Persian army in Ninevah did not Hold, rather Ninevah “Pillages Gaulish Women and Has His Way With The Gaulish Goats”.
Corrected map attached. Scythians in Boj, and Gaulish goats taking the day off.

Both dislodged parties opt to disband and rebuild, so we have the official retreats:
Hm. Ok, continuing with a little bit more! (Ctrl-V is paste, but Ctrl-Enter I guess is “Send prematurely”!)
Italy: disband A Marseilles
Russia: disband F St Petersburg(sc)
And then the builds to come by Wed-2. Think I’m still waiting for one more!

Our retreats are in:
A Lugard R Whitebridge
A Cairhein R Braem Wood
I will get maps and all out on Tuesday or Wednesday. The Holidays have thrown my computer's for a loop (rather I left my files on my home PC and will not get to them tonight due to New Years)
The news many of you may have heard, is that Felix's father has passed away and so has pulled from all his games.
We of course offer our condolences to Felix and his Family.
For the rest of us, the war must go on, so I am once again looking for one more player.
Mike has reopened DC 134 for recruiting, if you know anyone who might be interested, Please let me know.
We are now officially shooting for the record number of replacements in a Playtest game.
Happy Holidays to all.
