DC-227 Spring 1917 Adjudication - TheWhiteWolf   (Apr 13, 2009, 11:45 pm)
All,
I'd like to send a special thank you to the two of you who reminded me of the deadline. I checked for last-minute orders as soon as I got home from work, and then promptly forgot to adjudicate. Terribly sorry!
In sad news, Babak has asked to be replaced, due to his computer issues. I'll put the game in recruiting status after work tomorrow (unless one of the Mods wants to do it for me, hint hint.) ;o) On that note, Mods, what do I note him as in the list? He's not abandoning, certainly...

Folks,
I've heard from Babak, and he's still with us. Seems he's still having computer problems, but he'll still try to stick with the game. Thanks, Babak.
I've gotten both sets of retreats, but I'm so exhausted today I was falling asleep behind the wheel on the way home from work. I'll put out the adjudication as soon as I get home tomorrow. Thanks for being extra prompt, guys.

DC-227 Fall 1916 Adjudication - TheWhiteWolf   (Mar 30, 2009, 10:09 pm)
All,
I have several things to cover, so please pay attention.

First: Babak (Russia) has failed to submit orders. I don't know if he's still having computer trouble or not, but he had eight days to submit orders, plus more than two days' warning. Therefore, I have NMR'ed him. Babak, you have 24 hours to notify me if you wish to remain in the game. If not, I will replace you. If you do get in touch, and continue, the next NMR will cause your immediate replacement, as per rule 2 of my house rules.

Second: In my house rules, I state that extensions will be granted on a case-by-case basis, but that extensions to the current turn are strongly frowned upon. I know I don't specify a time frame in which a request is unacceptable, but asking for an extension less than 12 hours before the deadline, and in the middle of the night before a weekday, won't fly. Even in the case of a family emergency, I could plausibly say that you shouldn't have waited until the day of the deadline to send orders (I wouldn't be that heartless, of course, but it's only common sense.)

Third: Please, for the love of all that's holy, read a GM's house rules either before you sign up for a game, or at least before the game starts. One player submitted an order set that was one order short this turn. When, presumably, he realized his error, he sent an "addition" of the one order. According to my house rules, which I will paste in a moment, this "addition" would be the only valid order, causing the rest of his units to be unordered (hold).
The pertinent rule is: "6c. All order sets should contain a full set of orders. If a subsequent version of orders is sent (i.e., Version 2,) previously received orders will be completely disregarded, regardless of completeness of the most recently received order set. No assumptions will be made as to player intentions for a unit thus unordered."
I did not do that this time, as it would have been detrimental to the game, and it is too late at night to ask guidance of the Mods (and still get the turn out.)

Fourth: PLEASE check a map before submitting orders. Even in a case where you know exactly where all your units are, you should always make sure the spaces you're trying to move them to are adjacent. If the order set in question had been submitted even a day ago, I could have said something like "please review your orders for legality," and at least given some heads up (without crossing into dangerous, GM-interference territory.) However, if I receive orders on the day of the deadline, by the time I check them it will be after the deadline (as I work all day,) and too late to ask clarification. Therefore, potentially flawed order sets can end up affecting your position or plans in the game.

That's all for this turn, I think. Here it is. Any complaints can be addressed to me, though I can't promise I'll change the results. You get what you order, folks.

I agree with White; is there anybody out there that wants to communicate? Germany stands ready to enter into discussions with any country, on any subject (even outside the game) with.12 hour email turnaround guaranteed. I've sent out missives to several players and have received ZERO responses. With the exception of Austria (who I have wronged) I can't believe that no one wants to talk to me! Rgds, Michael

DC-227 Spring 1916 Adjudication - zeclient   (Mar 22, 2009, 10:17 pm)
Guys,

I just got back from a business trip so I haven't been very responsive lately. Apologies! I did send a message to the GM to let him know, but should have sent one to you as there were a few late minute negotiations that I was not really a part of due to the 24h delay that I did not take into account.
As another note, I will be on another business trip Wednesday and Thursday (Australia time), but that should not impact much on the game.

Regards,

Nick

DC-227 Short Delay - TheWhiteWolf   (Mar 10, 2009, 9:23 pm)
Folks,
Normally, I'd NMR Russia as per my house rules. However, Babak warned quite a few people well ahead of time that he was having problems with his computer. In that light, I'm pushing the deadline until tomorrow (Wednesday) at the normal time.
Babak, if I still don't have your builds by then, I'll be forced to NMR you just to keep the game moving.

Sorry all,
The White Wolf

Folks,
Seems I really flubbed on this one. I pushed for a quick deadline, and then didn't adjudicate. I promise I will get it out later tonight.

My apologies,

DC-227 GM is Back! - TheWhiteWolf   (Mar 02, 2009, 10:34 pm)
Hey Everybody!
Thanks so much for dealing with all the delays while I was gone. I hope you treated Trout good, because I'll be asking him for a report to find out who was naughty in my absence. ;o) Anyhow, I'm back and ready to roll, and apparently so is the game.
I'm very happy to welcome Ilyas Erzik to the game. He's been gracious enough to take on the mantle of Turkey for the foreseeable future. The new player list and deadline are below, and I've attached the map and RP file.

Players:

Austria: Matthew Kelly <kelly058(at)verizon.net>
England: Nick Cherrier <zeclient(at)hotmail.com>
France: Andrew Ott <drew3739o(at)yahoo.com>
Germany: Michael Stroz <mistro914(at)gmail.com>
Italy: Mark Utterbach <mdemagogue(at)gmail.com>
Russia: Babak Talebi <babaktalebi(at)gmail.com>
Turkey: Ilyas Erzik <IErzik(at)mail.az>

Deadline:
Fall 1915 is due Wednesday, 4 March at 2pm CST (8pm GMT.) Please note the time zone - I'm back in Texas now. I realize this is a very short deadline, but I've already got orders from all the veteran players. If anyone has a problem with this deadline, in light of the new Turkish player (especially Ilyas himself,) please let me know as soon as possible.

Thanks for everything,
The White Wolf

Heya fellow Jokers and Brokers,

I'm very happy to announce the return of Andy back to the realm of the net-connected... I'll hand the game back over to his very capable hands. We have found a new Turkish player, but I will leave the announcement of the revised player roster and new deadline to your good GM.

Thats all the news thats fit to print. Cheers folks!
