Hi Guys,

Thanks to Darryl for running a smooth and efficient game, well done, nice job!

EOG

Tried to get started with Joe/France but he stabbed straight away, so came to agreement with Eric which ran on an off basis until the end.

In throwing in my lot with Eric I felt I had to take on Russia, which meant bouncing Derek out of Sweden.

Will and I had previous history, but we managed to put this behind us and worked well together initially.

A key point was Eric turning against me, which meant I had to concentrate on attacking him to the detriment of my Eastern ambitions.

Then Will stabbed, and things looked grim. Eric and I worked to prevent an Austrian solo, and we were able to slow Wills progress,

In the end I couldn't have won if Eric and Will had stood together, but the dynamics between them meant that Eric sacrificed himself. I had had a two way deal with Will, but right near the end he switched again and I decided to go for the Solo if the opportunity arose.

So thanks to everyone for an enjoyable game.

Joe

Congratulations on the solo Joe and well done for surviving Eric. Not sure what to congratulate you on Will, as it didn't come out for you this time, but I guess your over-all persistence seemed head and shoulders above everyone elses in this game. Thanks to Darryl for GMing and good luck to you all.
Best

GM’s remarks:

The German Solo EGP fails . . . . However, Germany still achieves the Solo Victory with 18 Supply Centers. Congratulations Joe on your victory in Round 1, of Winter Blitz 2010.

I have not asked for End-of-Game Statements from any one that was eliminated earlier; however, everyone has elected to remain in the distribution. So, if you all (including you guys that were eliminated) would put together your EoG Statement, I am sure that there would be some interest. Please remember that people are going to be interested in earlier action such as why you decided to go the direction you did at the beginning of the game.

Best of Luck in Round 2 of Winter Blitz 2010!
