PREV  Fall 1932 Adjudication:  NEXT

ACD233 / DC276: The Fall 1932 season has been adjudicated. As looked likely following the Spring 1932 season, our Italian player Mike Morris has been eliminated. Italy was the most difficult assignment on the board, and thanks to Mike for his participation and helping to test the game. If you have any thoughts about the position for me (such as how I could specifically strengthen the position to increase your early options), I would appreciate it.

The Italian position was divvied up between the British and French, with 3 to the British and 3 to the French. The British were the biggest movers of the season at +3 SCs along with the Soviets, who expanded at German and Chinese expense. In Asia, the Chinese exchanged SCs with the Japanese in Beijing and Nagasaki. The French holdings in SE Asia are almost gone, with only Saigon still in their possession. Meanwhile, the Americans traded the Philippines for Sydney, and managed to come out +1 SC this year despite facing major British/French pressure. Going forward, the elimination of the Italians should change the dynamic of the game, with Germany at the center of the intrigue.

I need retreat orders from 6 players. The Retreat orders are due tomorrow night on Fri Oct 16th. The Winter adjustment orders are due on Mon Oct 19th.

Before the adjudication, we have some French press.

FRENCH PRESS
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

A little over a year into this global conflict, three world leaders have fallen. In the United States, Herbert Hoover has been replaced by Franklin Roosevelt; the world waits to see whether Washington’s duplicity changes with a different party in the White House. Italians and their African colonies rejoice under the corpse of Benito Mussolini, currently dangling from a lamppost with his “Second Roman Empire” a vainglorious, utter ruin. Fascist Italy is no more, and its people look forward with hope to their French and
British liberators restoring democracy to their ravaged land, as soon
as they prove worthy of it. The pride France took in this historic moment is dampened, of course, by the
assassination of its president. Paul Doumer was assassinated late last
spring by a Russian emigré. Chairman Stalin has denied any link
between Paul Gorguloff and the Cheka, nor any knowledge of the motives behind this heinous
act. But as Mussolini learned to his regret, this France no longer
turns the other cheek. France extends its hand in peace to Germany,
with the sincere hope that its leader has learned a lesson as to who
can be trusted, and who cannot. As for the Soviet Union, France demands satisfaction.

Albert Lebrun
President of France
