Well, it must be summer, because all the armies are flying north. Actually, that's not entirely true, because the Italians are headed west, but to be honest, Fletch reminds me of the old insult: "If you put his brains in a duck, it'd fly backwards." [You can thank me for that later].
It does seem that France and Germany are striving to take advantage of the English and Russian time troubles (England NMRs again). However, it also seems that certain Eastern nations don't intend to roll over. Just when you thought Austria was in for a tight squeeze, suddenly he's in Bohemia, threatening to Fest all over Oktober. (But what are we to make of that Turkish fleet in the Ionian?)
Well, no matter how you cut it, it was an interesting season, and it promises more for the future -- rumors of the French-German coronations may have been premature!
Two units were dislodged. The Russian army in Bulgaria had no retreat and disbands. The English fleet in Norway may retreat to many places: Barents Sea, Norwegian Sea, Skagerrak, St. Petersburg (nc), or off the board.
The English retreat is due tomorrow (Tuesday) at 14:00 CST (20:00 GMT).
